HARVEST REFUGE HOMES (HAREHO)

The situation of the Liberian crisis for children was devastating, heart-breaking, troublesome and can not be compare to anything as it pertain to living. Children were left alone to care and feed for themselves. The Harvest Ministries was left with no option but to move into action.

The Liberian Civil war mostly affected the young people of the country. The uprising which was term a revolution took the lives of over 200,000 thousand people. Parents and foster parents, single parents and guidance were killed leaving behind the young ones at the mercy of a wicked and uncompromising society.
The children of the Liberian society were turn child soldiers. They were used by all warring factions as they achieve their selfish aim of exploiting the nation and its people. These young ones were turn killing machines. They were engage in such acts for the following reasons:
* Fear of been killed
* They were forced and drug
* They saw it as a means of survivor
* They were fool with false promises
* They had no where to go or stay
* Revenge (fighting for one group since they saw they parents or relatives been murdered by the other)
* And many more.
Before the war subsided, children had stayed in the streets of the country side and those of the cities. They had no care since no one knew their origin and people were afraid that taking in a child will be inviting danger.
As the highest victims of the crisis, children decided to fight for survivor. They slept in market places, street corners, soccer fields, church compounds, abandon buildings and school yards. They fed on garbage’s, dump site, rejected food substances and anything they could find for consumption. Orphans walk the streets begging for food, alms and telling their orphans stories. They went about selling small commodities for people with little pay or only for a day’s meal. That is if only they will be treated justly.
Looking at this need the Harvest Outreach Ministry developed a burden for these needy orphans who live in the streets of Liberia and those living on the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana. Presently, the Harvest Refuge Homes are in operation in Ghana and Liberia. The Harvest Refuge Homes seek to serve children who are orphans by giving them a save and permanent home.
Orphans who are represented by Harvest Outreach Ministries, are now living in temporary shelter and other living arrangements. These are children who parents were killed, abandoned, lost or cut from family connection during the civil war. These orphans are living under difficult circumstances and are without food, clothing, schooling and medical supplies and care.
The Harvest Refuge Homes seeks to build an environment where orphans can find a gentle, loving community in which they know that people really care about them. It will be a home for orphans who knew neglect, misdirection, abandonment, abuse, and crisis but are now in the care of a loving HEART and caring SOUL by the grace of God Almighty.
It is our hope that they will get medical care, proper clothing, food, education, counseling, love, attention, and a positive lifestyle. Most importantly, we teach them about Jesus Christ and His love for them.
In this effort, we are seeking mission partners who will join us in meeting the needs of these orphans. If you feel you can be a miracle, Please let us know how you can be of a help in serving God’s purpose.
Please Note That
The Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27   For more information visit....Sure and Firm Foundation.
